Your tips for holidays cover a wide area of actions and thoughts. good article and very timely! One idea I could mention is that when people are in frame of mind to consider and help other people at the time of year from Thanksgiving through Christmas, it would be quite beneficial to many to just continue on with helping the same people through the following months. When people don't have family or friends to be with through the holidays , they still have the same needs afterwards.
I agree, that a person someitmes has to accept less than perfect and it will create a more relaxed atmosphere.
thank you

Me and a friend are taking measures to allow God to help us with letting go of our quilt for wrong choices we made in earlier years...we are working hard at having a positive attitude and changing our way of thinking about ourselves..we don't want to fake it any longer..we want to have the peace that God wants us to have as his forgiven children..this article is so good. Now to put it to practice one day at a time...

We both have great christian husbands and we have carried things over from our past that our husbands shouldn't have to deal with..We are going through lessons in a Life Recovery Bible....

Patrick,
Your article shows great insight and the results of action without deep thinking and consideration of family are so very true. I believe courses stressing these ideas should be given to young people in high school. Principles can be applied to life actions besides marriages. Well written and easily understood. thank you

This was a great article on commitment..I feel that is why so many marriages fail. Lack of commitment...young people seem to enter marriage with divorce on their mind if things don't work out the way they expected them to they don't stay together and work things out and if children is involved, they are the main ones who get hurt...Selfishness keeps one from desiring whats best for the other person and that is where we fail...I been their I know, and you have to be comitted to God first and the rest will follow..Love isn't a feeling it is a commitment...The comment the husband made is what every married couple should make to one another, "if you leave me I am going with you" :)

Dorothy, Thanks for your comments. You could print this article for your friend. Unfortunately, it often takes a traumatic event (either our own or others') to raise our awareness of the blessings we have.
